Although I was asked for a "small processing fee" on both sides on the border between Cambodia and Laos, I still managed to cross it without any trouble.
But it seemed that it was not the case for all the tourists. Some of them didn't go through. You should at least try to joke or flirt with the officials if you want to have a last chance.
Anyway, I have decided to relax for a while in Si Phan Don which literally means "Four Thousands Islands"and is located in the south of the country along the Mekong river. It is said that there are no cars, no electricity and no TVs. It sounds good to me!
